Your web site has been added to all of the free sites. The most important one is the Open Directory Project, used by Google, MSN, Netscape, and other search engines. It has also been added to AlltheWeb.com and AltaVista.com. If your organization is nonprofit, you'll also be added to Yahoo!

Marketing Your Web Site

Here are some free tips on how to market your Web site.

  1. Make full use of email signature files by including your URL (Web address) prominently.
  2. Include your URL in your letterhead, business cards, and one-sheets.
  3. Make full use of your online national listing at any associations you may be a member of. Check it twice a year, more if it is a significant business generator for you.
  4. Include your URL in your handouts, giveaways, PowerPoint presentations, books, products, and video clips.
  5. Include your URL in all press releases and articles you write.
  6. Sign up for an industry ezine and contribute a tip. Include your URL.
  7. Contribute a comment to an industry newsgroup in which you are an expert, and include your URL in your signature file.
  8. Send an online newsletter on a regular basis that includes links back to your site.
  9. Ask noncompeting businesses to add a link to their site.
  10. Ask all professional and business organizations in which you are a member to list you on their site directory.
  11. Ask all civic, social, and religious organizations in which you are a member to list you on their site directory.
  12. If it's applicable, get listed at learningresources.com or your industry portal.
  13. Include your URL in any article you write that is published on the Web.
  14. Ask your vendors and business partners to add a link to your site.
  15. Ask your Webmaster to add your site to his/her portfolio of sites.
  16. Sign up for a link exchange program.

a. Open your browser and go to http://www.yourdomain.com/CNC.
b. Enter your login ID and password. (If you need this, email me.)
c. Select Statistics.
